FAKTA Market Aalborg

Originally viewed a German phenomenon, discount shopping seems to take hold increasingly also in northern Europe. Exemplary for this, the third largest Danish food discounter Fakta plans the building of a new supermarket in Aalborg in the northernmost part of Denmark.

In the course of this building endeavour, a ca. 4 m high embankment to an adjacent landmark protected gutted factory building had to be bridged. The architect planning foresaw a permanent sheet pile for this purpose, for which we were asked to install tie-back anchors by means of permanent line anchors.

After suitability tests had confirmed full load bearing capacity, we proceeded with the production of the remaining tie-back strand anchors in the local limestone. Despite freezing temperatures and in part heavy snow storms, we succeeded in our job without any deficiencies and were able to hold our agreed delivery date. We wish the citizens of Aalborg happy shopping at low prices for a better life.
